Flood Warning - De Grey River Catchment
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Western Australia Final Flood Warning For The De Grey River Catchment Issued at 11:57 AM WST on Thursday 20 February 2025 Flood Warning Number: 17 RIVER LEVELS ARE RECEDING AND NO FURTHER FLOODING IS EXPECTED AT COOLENAR POOL River levels at Coolenar Pool on the De Grey River are receding and are below the minor flood level. Minor flooding upstream of Coolenar Pool continues. River levels will remain elevated for the next few days as floodwaters recede. Due to recent flooding road conditions maybe still be adversely affected. Some roads may be impassable and communities may be isolated. Significant disruption of the transportation network and extensive road closures are expected to continue. Oakover River: Minor flooding continues to recede slowly along the Oakover River at Ripon Hills Rd. No further river level rises are expected. Nullagine River: Minor flooding continues to recede at Tumbinna Pool along the Nullagine River. No further river level rises are expected. Coongan River: Minor flooding continues to recede slowly at Marble Bar on the Coongan River. No further river level rises are expected. Shaw River: River levels continue to recede along the Shaw River between Marble Bar Rd Crossing and Coolenar Pool on the De Grey River. No further river level rises are expected. De Grey River: No further flooding is expected in the De Grey River. The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool is currently at 3.13 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (5.00 metres). The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.50 m). Flood Safety Advice: DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered.
