Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Victoria Final Flood Warning For The Mitchell River Issued at 04:27 PM EDT on Tuesday 11 February 2025 Flood Warning Number: 4 MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BAIRNSDALE Since 9:00 am Tuesday no significant rainfall has been observed across the Mitchell River catchment. River levels continue to ease at Glenaladale. Further downstream a river levels are elevated at Bairnsdale, however river levels remain below the minor flood level. Mitchell River to Glenaladale: Flooding has eased along the Mitchell River to Glenaladale. The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is currently at 2.66 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m). Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale: Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale. The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale is currently at 4.87 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (5.60 m). The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.60 m). Flood Safety Advice: SES advises that all community members should: Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater, Never allow children to play in floodwater, Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain, Keep well clear of fallen power lines Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.} Current Emergency Information is available at http://emergency.vic.gov.au For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
