Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Victoria Final Flood Warning For The Cann And Genoa Rivers Issued at 09:36 AM EST on Thursday 24 April 2025 Flood Warning Number: 3 FLOODING HAS EASED ALONG THE CANN AND GENOA RIVERS Flooding has eased along the Cann River at Weeragua and along the Genoa River at the Gorge. River levels have peaked but remain elevated along the Bemm River at Princes Highway. Showers are forecast for the remainder of Thursday, but no significant rainfall totals are expected. Bemm River: River levels along the Bemm River remain elevated, but falling. Cann River: No further flooding is expected along the Cann River. The Cann River (West) at Weeragua is currently at 2.40 metres and steady, below the minor flood level. The Cann River (West) at Weeragua is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m). Genoa River: No further flooding is expected along the Genoa River. The Genoa River at The Gorge is currently at 1.80 metres and steady, below the minor flood level. The Genoa River at The Gorge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.90 m). Cann River (East) at Chandlers Creek: Cancellation Flood Safety Advice: SES advises that all community members should: Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater, Never allow children to play in floodwater, Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain, Keep well clear of fallen power lines Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.} Current Emergency Information is available at www.emergency.vic.gov.au For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
