Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northern Country and North East Forecast Districts. Issued at 12:47 am Monday, 23 February 2026. Severe thunderstorms have now eased across the northeast of Victoria. Weather Situation A cold front is now weakening through the northeast of the state. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas: Northern Country and North East This warning is now cancelled. 75.6 MM WAS RECORDED AT TALLANDOON (MITTA MITTA RIVER) IN THE 3 HOURS TO 5:52 PM. 60.6 MM WAS RECORDED AT OSBORNE'S FLAT (YACKANDANDAH CK) IN THE 3 HOURS TO 5 PM. 30 mm was recorded at Rutherglen in the 60 min to 4:23 pm. 31 mm was recorded at Morella in the 60 min to 10:50 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
