Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Tasmania TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North East, East Coast, Central North and Midlands Forecast Districts. Issued at 9:49 pm Monday, 13 January 2025. Severe thunderstorms have now eased. Weather Situation Weather Situation: A warm and moist airmass lies over the north and central parts, which has led to the development of thunderstorms this evening. Isolated thunderstorms may continue until the late evening, but are no longer expected to be severe. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas: North East, East Coast, Central North and Midlands The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. 25.8 mm was recorded at Llewellyn in the 60 minutes to 8:15 pm. 18.8 mm was recorded at Interlaken in the 45 minutes to 6:50 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500. No further warnings will be issued for this event. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
