Final Flood Watch For North, North West And North East Issued at 12:35 PM EDT on Monday 02 December 2024 By the Bureau of Meteorology, Hobart. Flood Watch Number: 4 MINOR FLOOD RISK HAS NOW EASED ACROSS MOST CATCHMENTS As the low pressure system moves to the south of Tasmania during Monday, a weak ridge is expected to build. Catchments across Tasmania are relatively wet following recent rainfall, and catchments may react quickly to further rainfall. Showers are forecast for the next few days but no significant rainfall totals are forecast. Minor to isolated moderate flooding will continue over the next few days in the North and South Esk catchments. Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchments. Meander River Macquarie River East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno) Ringarooma River North Coastal Rivers Tamar (Launceston) Mersey River Forth River Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers Arthur River Nelson Bay Coastal Rivers Pieman River Flood Warnings are current in the North and South Esk Rivers. Note: This Flood Watch is a "heads up" for possible future flooding and is NOT a Flood Warning.
