Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts. Issued at 5:13 pm Monday, 9 March 2026. Heavy, locally intense rainfall still possible; refer to the Severe Weather Warning. Weather Situation A trough extending from a low pressure system near Emerald is generating showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest line of storms has now moved offshore between Gladstone and Agnes Water. Please check https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and-climate/warnings-and-alerts/. 210 MM WAS RECORDED AT WESTWOOD RANGE IN THE 6 HOURS TO 4:33 PM. 206 MM WAS RECORDED AT CAPTAIN CREEK IN THE 6 HOURS TO 4:37 PM. 193 MM WAS RECORDED AT ALLIGATOR FLATS IN THE 6 HOURS TO 4:18 PM. 146 MM WAS RECORDED AT EDEN IN THE 3 HOURS TO 4:04 PM. 132 MM WAS RECORDED AT MILTON IN THE 3 HOURS TO 3:50 PM. 129 MM WAS RECORDED AT CASTLEHOPE IN THE 3 HOURS TO 4:09 PM. 108 MM WAS RECORDED AT BOYNE ISLAND IN THE 2 HOURS TO 4:37 PM. 109 MM WAS RECORDED AT GLADSTONE RADAR IN THE 2 HOURS TO 4:38 PM. Emergency services advise people to: * Never drive, walk, play or ride through floodwater. It is dangerous. * Stay away from storm water drains. * Stay away from fallen powerlines. * Drive slowly and never drive through floodwaters.
