Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Final Flood Warning For The Albert River Issued at 01:50 PM EST on Saturday 15 February 2025 Flood Warning Number: 6 FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BURKETOWN AIRSTRIP River levels along the Albert River at Burketown Airstrip are expected to remain below the minor flood level. Further showers and storms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will resume if required. A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Western Cape York Peninsula. Nicholson and Gregory Rivers: Flooding is no longer expected along the Albert River. River levels at Doomadgee and Escott Station are estimated to be below the minor flood level. No recent observations are available for Burketown on the Albert River. However, the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (5.00 m). The Albert River at Burketown Airstrip is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m). Flood Safety Advice: Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.
