Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Moderate Flood Warning For The Georgina River And Eyre Creek Issued at 11:02 AM EST on Monday 21 April 2025 Flood Warning Number: 24 MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT MARION DOWNS, BEDOURIE, AND GLENGYLE Moderate flooding is continuing along the Georgina River. Major flooding at Glengyle has eased to moderate flooding during Sunday. A renewed major flood peak recorded earlier at Marion Downs is travelling downstream of Bedourie, which may cause renewed rises at Glengyle and keep the flood levels elevated for a longer time along the Eyre Creek. No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days. Georgina River to Marion Downs: Moderate flooding is easing along the Georgina River around Marion Downs. The Georgina River at Marion Downs is currently at 4.33 metres and falling, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m). The Georgina River at Marion Downs is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days. Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs: Elevated river and creek levels are continuing along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs. Eyre Creek: Moderate flooding is occurring along the Eyre Creek, with renewed rises possible as a flood peak travelling downstream. Eyre Creek at Bedourie is currently at 4.53 metres and falling slowly, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m). Eyre Creek at Bedourie is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days. No current river level observations are available for the Eyre Creek at Glengyle. The river level is estimated to be below the major flood level (4.00 m) and falling, with moderate flooding. The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) for the next few days, with renewed rises possible as an upstream flood peak arrive.
