Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Major Flood Warning For The Bremer River And Warrill Creek Issued at 09:46 PM EST on Monday 10 March 2025 Flood Warning Number: 11 MAJOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING ALONG THE BREMER RIVER AND WARRILL CREEK MAJOR FLOOD PEAK AROUND THE MARCH 2017 LEVELS LIKELY AT IPSWICH DURING THE EARLY HOURS OF TUESDAY Heavy rainfall across the Bremer River and Warrill Creek catchments has caused widespread and dangerous major flooding. The flood peak along Warrill Creek is currently between Harrisville and Amberley, while the Bremer River flood peak is approaching the confluence with Warrill Creek. The Bremer River at Ipswich is forecast to exceed the major flood level (11.70 m) around midnight Monday, with a major flood peak likely around the March 2017 flood level (12.35 m) during the early hours of Tuesday. Areas of localised rainfall overnight Monday into Tuesday may cause renewed river level rises or exacerbate current river levels, however the risk of significant rainfall is reducing. The situation is being monitored closely and this flood warning will be updated as required. Warrill Creek: Major flooding is occurring along the Warrill Creek. The Warrill Creek at Kalbar is expected to be above the major flood level (9.00 m) and falling. The Warrill Creek at Kalbar may fall below the major flood level (9.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The Warrill Creek at Harrisville peaked at 5.88 metres around 1:40 pm Monday 10 March and is currently at 5.84 metres and falling, above the major flood level (5.00 m). The Warrill Creek at Harrisville is expected to remain above the major flood level (5.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The Warrill Creek at Amberley is currently at 7.30 metres and nearing a peak, above the major flood level (6.50 m). The Warrill Creek at Amberley is likely to peak around 7.40 metres late Monday evening, with major flooding. Bremer River: Major flooding is occurring along the Bremer River. The Bremer River at Rosewood peaked at 6.80 metres around 12:15 pm Monday 10 March and is currently at 6.08 metres and falling, above the major flood level (6.00 m). The Bremer River at Rosewood is likely to fall below the major flood level (6.00 m) late Monday evening. The Bremer River at Five Mile Bridge peaked at 8.34 metres around 2:15 pm Monday 10 March and is currently at 7.94 metres and falling, above the major flood level (7.00 m). The Bremer River at Five Mile Bridge is expected to remain above the major flood level (7.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The Bremer River at Walloon peaked at 10.44 metres around 5:20 pm Monday 10 March and is currently at 10.04 metres and falling, above the major flood level (8.50 m). The Bremer River at Walloon is expected to remain above the major flood level (8.50 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. The Bremer River at Ipswich is currently at 11.27 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (9.00 m). The Bremer River at Ipswich is expected to exceed the major flood level (11.70 m) around midnight Monday.
