Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Final Flood Warning For The Burrum And Cherwell Rivers Catchments Issued at 09:15 AM EST on Tuesday 11 March 2025 Flood Warning Number: 2 MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG THE BURRUM AND CHERWELL RIVERS Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has weakened. Minor flooding no longer expected along the Burrum and Cherwell Rivers. River levels have peaked and are easing in the Burrum and Cherwell. Elevated river levels remain across the Gregory and Elliott catchments. Further light showers and the chance of a thunderstorm are forecast over the next day or two, which may cause further small river and creek level rises. Burrum and Cherwell Rivers: Minor flooding no longer expected along the Burrum and Cherwell Rivers. The Burrum River at Howard peaked at 5.86 metres around 03:30 am Tuesday 11 March and is currently at 5.66 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. The Burrum River at Howard is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m). The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is currently at 1.84 metres and rising with the tide, below the minor flood level. The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.50 m). Flood Safety Advice: Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.
