Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Final Flood Warning For The Pioneer River Issued at 11:00 AM AEST on Monday 09 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 5 FLOODING HAS EASED ACROSS THE PIONEER RIVER Moderate rainfall has been observed across the catchment since late Saturday, which resulted in river and creek level rises over the weekend. River levels have now eased and are expected to continue falling. Showers and the chance of thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days but are not expected to significantly affect river levels. A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. Pioneer River: River levels have now eased below the minor level at Mirani Township. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads. Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed.
