Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Major Flood Warning For The Cape River, Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River And Minor Flood Warning For The Burdekin River Issued at 09:04 AM EST on Sunday 06 April 2025 Flood Warning Number: 19 MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT TAEMAS MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY Moderate to heavy rainfall over the last few weeks has caused river and creek level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. There is no significant rainfall forecast over the next couple of days. Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam: Moderate flooding may occur along the Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam. The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 5.90 metres, above the minor flood level (4.00 metres). The Suttor River at St Anns may reach the moderate flood level (6.50 m) overnight Sunday into Monday as upstream floodwaters arrive. Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam: Major flooding is occurring along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam. The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 8.76 metres and rising, above the major flood level (8.00 m). The Cape River at Taemas will remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) during Sunday. A major flood peak is likely overnight Sunday into Monday as upstream floodwaters arrive. Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam: Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam. The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is currently at 3.28 metres, above the minor flood level (3.00 m). The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam will remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) overnight Sunday into Monday. Small renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive. Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam: Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam. The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 10.58 metres, above the minor flood level (10.00 m). The Burdekin River at Dalbeg will remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) overnight Sunday into Monday. Small renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive. The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 9.55 metres, above the minor flood level (9.00 m). The Burdekin River at Clare will remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) overnight Sunday into Monday. Small renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive. The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is currently at 7.25 metres, above the minor flood level (7.00 m). The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is likely to remain around the minor flood level (7.00 m) overnight Sunday into Monday. Small renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.
