Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Final Flood Warning For The Johnstone River Catchment Issued at 10:08 AM EST on Tuesday 18 March 2025 Flood Warning Number: 3 FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT MCAVOY BRIDGE AND MOURILYAN MILL Significant rainfall totals in excess of 190 mm were recorded in the 24 hours to 9 am Tuesday in the lower parts of the Johnstone River catchment. Further areas of heavy rainfall and showers are possible over the coming days, however, river levels are expected to remain below minor flood levels. North Johnstone: Flooding is no longer expected along the North Johnstone River. The North Johnstone River at McAvoy Bridge is currently at 1.55 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (5.00 m). The North Johnstone River at McAvoy Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m). South Johnstone: Flooding is no longer expected along the South Johnstone River. The South Johnstone River at Mourilyan Mill is currently at 1.27 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (8.00 m).
