Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Minor Flood Warning For The Gwydir River Issued at 11:42 AM EDT on Thursday 03 April 2025 Flood Warning Number: 3 MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GRAVESEND MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT YARRAMAN THURSDAY EVENING The Horton River has experienced a moderately heavy rainfall since Tuesday evening, with river level along the Gwydir River at Rider peaked overnight Wednesday to Thursday. The flood peak has now arrived at Gravesend where minor flooding is occurring. This peak is expected to travel downstream to Pallamallawa and Yarraman bridge during Thursday and Friday. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days, Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam: Minor flooding is expected along the Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam. The Gwydir River at Gravesend Road Bridge is currently at 6.34 metres and steady, peaking above the minor flood level (6.10 metres). The Gwydir River at Gravesend Road Bridge may remain above the minor flood level (6.10 m) Thursday evening. The Gwydir River at Pallamallawa is currently at 3.49 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (6.00 metres). The Gwydir River at Pallamallawa is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Thursday. The Gwydir River at Yarraman Bridge is currently at 3.26 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.00 metres). The Gwydir River at Yarraman Bridge is likely to reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) Thursday evening. The river level may peak near 5.20 metres overnight Thursday into Friday with minor flooding.
