Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Final Flood Warning For The Wilsons River Issued at 08:29 PM EST on Wednesday 14 August 2024 Flood Warning Number: 6 MINOR FLOODING RISK AT LISMORE DURING THURSDAY EVENING HAS NOW EASED Forecast rainfall totals for the remainder of Wednesday into early Thursday morning have now eased across the Wilsons catchment, Minor flooding at Lismore is no longer expected. A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. Wilsons River: No further flooding is expected in the Wilsons River. The Wilsons River at Lismore (AHD) will remain below the minor flood level (4.20 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Flood Safety Advice: In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500. * Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place. * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood. * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains. * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water.
