Flood Warning - Tweed River
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Final Flood Warning For The Tweed River Issued at 11:34 AM EDT on Sunday 30 March 2025 Flood Warning Number: 3 FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING AT TUMBULGUM AND CHINDERAH Moderate rainfall recorded in the Tweed River catchment over the past few days caused river and creek level rises along the Tweed River. River levels have now eased and minor flooding is no longer occurring at Tumbulgum and at Chinderah. Further rainfall is forecast in the Tweed River catchment from the middle of the week which may cause renewed river rises and flooding. The situation will be monitored, and flood watches and flood warnings will be issued as required. Tweed River: No further flooding is expected in the Tweed River. The Tweed River at Tumbulgum peaked around the minor flood level (1.40 metres) on the high tides during Saturday. The river level is currently at 1.12 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. No further flooding is expected at Tumbulgum. The Tweed River at Chinderah (Barneys Point) peaked around the minor flood level (1.30 metres) on the high tides during Saturday. The river level is currently at currently at 0.88 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. No further flooding is expected at Chinderah. Flood Safety Advice: In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500. *Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place. *Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood. *Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains. *Never drive, ride or walk through flood water.
