Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Final Flood Warning For The Tweed River Issued at 03:25 PM EDT on Sunday 19 January 2025 Flood Warning Number: 2 MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT TUMBULGUM AND CHINDERAH Minor flooding is no longer expected at Tumbulgum and Chinderah after river levels peaked below the minor flood level early Sunday afternoon. Tweed River: Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Tweed River. The Tweed River at Tumbulgum peaked at 1.14 metres, below the minor flood level (1.40 m), early Sunday afternoon. The river level is currently at 1.01 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. The Tweed River at Tumbulgum is expected to remain below the minor flood level. The Tweed River at Chinderah (Barneys Point) peaked at 1.05 metres, below the minor flood level (1.30 m), early Sunday afternoon. The river level is currently at 0.82 metres and falling, below the minor flood level. The Tweed River at Chinderah (Barneys Point) is expected to remain below the minor flood level. Flood Safety Advice: In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500. *Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place. *Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood. *Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains. *Never drive, ride or walk through flood water.
