Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology New South Wales TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning for Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts. Issued at 9:46 pm Monday, 2 September 2024. Damaging winds have eased about southeastern New South Wales. Weather Situation A cold front has moved through southeastern parts of New South Wales today, with strong west to southwesterly winds in its wake. Damaging winds have now eased over New South Wales. cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas: Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains Severe weather is no longer occurring in NSW and the ACT. The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. Significant wind observations recorded to 9:45pm Monday include: 91 km/h wind gust recorded at Goulburn Airport at 1:07 pm 96 km/h wind gust recorded at Port Kembla at 12:32 pm 106 km/h wind gust recorded at Camden Airport at 11:40 am 98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Moss Vale at 10:37 am 96 km/h wind gust was recorded at Goulburn at 10:30 am 91 km/h wind gust was recorded at Kurnell at 10:28 am 98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Boyce at 10:00 am 104 km/h wind gust was recorded at Nowra at 9:52 am 98 km/h wind gusts was recorded at Nerriga at 9:46 am 107 km/h wind gust was recorded at High Range (Wanganderry) at 9:44 am 104 km/h wind gust was recorded at Cabramurra at 9:43 am 91 km/h wind gust was recorded at Braidwood at 9:36 am 98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Perisher Valley at 8:48 am 109 km/h wind gust recorded at Cabramurra at 6:47 am 106 km/h wind gust was recorded at Bombala at 5:20 am The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road. * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires. No further warnings will be issued for this event.
