Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology New South Wales TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 02:59 PM EDT on Friday 14 March 2025 Valid for Friday 14 March 2025 to Sunday 16 March 2025 Warning for the following areas: Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast Cancellation for the following areas: Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains Safety Advice:: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the high twenties to mid-thirties. Minimum temperatures in the mid-teens to low twenties. Heatwave conditions are expected to peak over the weekend, rapidly easing to start next week with a cool change expected late Sunday. Locations likely to be impacted include Batemans Bay, Nowra and Richmond. The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Saturday 15 March 2025
