Western Australia looks set for a very hot lead up to Christmas

The heat continues to build in Western Australia with temperatures increasing into Christmas. Several centres can expect temperatures in the high 30s or low to mid 40s by Christmas Day. Though there is a chance Perth will be spared, with by a possible coastal seabreeze limiting the city to the mid 30s. The figure below shows computer model forecast for surface temperatures at 5pm on Christmas Day. The areas of bright purple suggest temperatures above 44 degrees.
