The rain map dividing Australia

Ben Domensino

Around half of Australia will see some rain this week and the other half will be almost completely dry.

So, will you be on the wet or dry half of the country this week?

The map below shows the predicted accumulated rain between Monday and Sunday according to one computer model.

As you can see on the map, you stand a good chance of seeing at least some wet weather this week if you live in the southern half of the country. But if you live in northern Australia, the rain-bearing clouds will be few and far between.

Parts of WA, SA, Tasmania, Victoria, NSW, and the ACT will get rain on multiple days this week and a few areas could see enough rain to bring a risk of flooding.

The impending wet weather will come from a series of cold fronts and low pressure systems that could also bring damaging winds, thunderstorms, hail, and snow as they traverse southern Australia.

Warnings will be issued in several states as the week unfolds, so keep an eye on the latest forecasts and warnings in your area.
