Lightning injures soccer players in Jamaica

According to reports, three players collapsed to the ground after the strike occurred and some of the injured players were taken to hospital. One player was taken off the field on a stretcher.
Earth Network's Total Lightning Network detected 213 lightning pulses within 16km radius of the soccer field between 3pm and 7pm local time. The cloud-to-groud strike that injured players was detected at 5:23pm, towards the end of the second half.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 58 people were hospitalised in Australia because of lightning strikes during the two year period ending in June 2016. Of these cases, eight deaths were caused directly by lightning.
