The second of the two strong cold fronts this week has brought a renewed burst of wind for New South Wales.

On Friday, Mount Boyce gusted to 91km/h, 89km/h was recorded at Goulburn Airport, 91km/h at Mount Ginini, and winds at Perisher Valley were clocked at 104km/h. 

Saturday could see similar wind strengths, with Albion Park seeing a 96km/h gust this morning, Wattamolla and Kurnell have also seen gusts over 80km/h.

A Severe Weather Warning for damaging wind gusts remains current for the ACT, Sydney, Illawarra, Snowy Mountains, Mid North Coast, Hunter, South Coast and Central and Southern Tablelands. Winds could reach between 60km/h to 70km/h for parts of these districts, and could gust up to 90km/h. 

A second burst of wind is expected later on Sunday of similar strength, although it will mainly affect southern and central NSW regions. Alpine areas could pick up gusts as high as 120km/h, with blizzard conditions likely above 1600m. Blizzard conditions should ease during Monday. 

It is advised that people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees; secure loose items around the house, balcony and yard; and to keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
