As the vibrant Bleach* Festival enters its final weekend on the Gold Coast, all eyes are not just on the incredible art performances but also on the skies above. In this story, we'll cover the weather forecast for the closing days of the festival, ensuring you’re prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store as you enjoy the last of this artistic celebration.

The Bleach* Festival is an annual arts and cultural festival held on the Gold Coast, known for its vibrant celebrations and a diverse program that includes performances in theatre, music, dance, and visual arts. The festival takes place in various locations across the city, often utilising outdoor spaces, beaches, and parks to create immersive experiences.

As you bask in the outdoor festivities, you might be wondering what the weather has in store for the remainder of Saturday and the upcoming Sunday, the final days of this vibrant festival. The good news is that the event will avoid the worst of the upcoming weather, which is set to impact the city from Monday, marking the start of a week of gloomy, rainy conditions, as highlighted in yesterday’s story here. However, it might be wise to carry an umbrella, as showers could make an appearance, particularly on Sunday. With that in mind, let's delve into the forecast:

Today promises partly cloudy skies, with a slight chance of a shower this afternoon as moderate to fresh southeasterly winds continue to sweep along the coast. The city will reach a top of 23°C, with the sun breaking through the fluffy cumulus clouds. Temperatures will dip to around 16-17°C by the end of the day, and the onshore winds might make it feel as chilly as 13°C as the final outdoor performances wrap up around 9pm.

On Sunday, the morning performances starting around 9am will commence under a veil of clouds, with temperatures hovering between 17-18°C, feeling like the mid-teens as southeasterly winds strengthen. The skies will gradually darken from late morning, with winds becoming increasingly noticeable and fresh to strong during the afternoon and evening as a trough deepens along the coast. The city will see a high of 21°C, though it will feel more like 17-18°C in the wind, with a 60% chance of a few showers throughout the afternoon. If you plan to attend the final evening shows as the event draws to a close, be sure to pack your umbrella. The clouds will thicken, and showers will become likely as the coastal trough drives those moist southeasterly winds ashore.

We hope you fully enjoy the final days of this iconic Gold Coast festival before the heavy rain moves in early next week. Have an amazing time!
