Finally a bit of warmth for Perth
Perth had its first 30 degree day of November yesterday after a mostly cold start to the month.
Across the first 12 days of November, Perth had an average maximum temperature of only 23 degrees. That’s nearly 4 degrees below the average maximum for November of 26.7 degrees. Winds have predominantly been from the southwesterly quadrant over this period under the frequent effect of passing cold front drawing cold air over the southwest corner.
Winds finally swung to dry and warm easterlies feeding into a deepening trough over the west coast on Saturday, leading to the first maximum above 30 degrees of November (see image below).

Temperatures are once again expected to reach the 30s in Perth today, with a forecast maximum of 32 degrees, which should help bring the monthly average closer to normal. This warmth will however not stick around. The trough drawing this heat will push eastwards into the interior, leading to a string of days in the mid-20s across the coming week for the city, with a return of the west-to-southwesterly winds, and possible showers around Thursday.
