Ben Domensino

Strong winds associated with a cold front kicked up a large cloud of dust in Australia's dry southeastern inland this afternoon.

In the fading light of the day, satellite images show that dust is stretching from northern Victoria all the way up to the northeast inland of South Australia, a distance of around 700 kilometres.
Airborne dust is likely to spread further east tonight and into Thursday morning, possibly affecting parts of northern Victoria and some areas of southern and eastern NSW.
