Warm Autumn night for the south

Warm daytime temperatures have combined with a blanket of cloud to bring the warmest April night in up to seven years for parts of the nations south.
Widespread overnight temperatures in parts of South Australia and Victoria were between five and nine degrees above average. Some centres even remained 11 above the average, making for an uncomfortable nights sleep.
In Victoria, those in Charlton in the Mallee district had their warmest April night since 2005. The mercury only dipped to 19 degrees which is 10 above the average for this time of year. In the South West, Hamilton dropped to 17, nine above average and the warmest April night in two years. Melbourne also had a warm evening with a low of 19.3 which is 8.5 above average.
In South Australia it was as much as 11 above average overnight at places like Lameroo in Murraylands.The low of 20 at Lameroo was the warmest April night since records began in 2005. The unseasonably warm night wasn't just confined to the east of the state. Minnipa in the West Coast only fell to 21 making it their warmest April night in four years. Adelaide cooled to just 19.8 degrees which is eight above average.
Saturday night is likely to remain above average however it should be a couple of degrees cooler as the airmass cools down.
