Rain puts result in doubt for Adelaide Ashes Test

Rain puts result in doubt for Adelaide Ashes Test
The score is a fair chance to be 0-0 after the 2nd Test in Adelaide - a combination of rain, a good batting wicket and a lack of strike bowlers. One day may be lost to rain. Rain will almost certainly arrive by day five, with some possible as early as day three. Rain may become persistent and heavy enough to bring a premature end to the match, assuming the bowlers haven't ended it sooner. A result will come down to the bowlers' ability to dismiss the opposition batsmen twice in under five days. Any rain interruptions on day three and four may initially be brief but may be frequent enough to bring frustration to players and fans. Interruptions on day five may be long-lasting. Given the likely batting dominance, an extension of days one and two could be needed to get a result. It won't be just the rain making a result difficult. Bad light will also come into play on the last three days, particularly on day five. In the tradition of Adelaide tests, at least the first two days will be played in 30-degree sunshine. Cloud and humidity will increase from day three. Humidity could even reach 60 to 70%, high for Adelaide and higher than it got to in Brisbane during the 1st Test.
